Whenever train stops at a station, will be set to the train’s id, the decider will pick it up, and set to 1, which in turn, will disable the station, the second the train leaves, the train ID signal ceases to be read by the station, that resets the decider output to 0, and re-enables the station. Set enabled condition to 0, then set output to and select the 1 radio button. In station menu, make sure that Enable/Disable, and Read stopped train are both checked.Connect both input and output terminals of the combinator to the station.Place Decider Combinator near the station. You may chose any signals you wish, these are the two signals i am not likely to use on my dedicated train circuit network. – station output signal, and decider input signal – station input signal, and also decider output signal We can use all this to avoid waiting lines just about anywhere, where multiple trains tend to come together and create temporary congestion, and slowing things down. While every other train with that station in its list, will automatically reroute to next available station whenever it encounters disabled station in its stop queue. Since the train is already standing still at the station, disabling the station does not affect it. Train ID’s are always greater than zero, so the circuit signal is always raised whenever train is stopped at a station. Read the train's contents and multiply by -1 and add to the LTN output. Use an arithmetic combinator to determine the difference between the train contents and the LTN request.

Items can still be placed in that locked slot, but LTN won't ever request a full train from that station. This method uses the fact that stations are capable of reporting the train ID back to the circuit network. This is different than limiting the train inside the GUI. Only requirement beside Railway is Circuit Network research. Different circuit wire color is used to isolate one network from the other, and to isolate stations from eachother so only one specific station gets disabled. This solution works standalone, and as a part of existing circuit network.
Factorio train station how to#
I have found multiple ways how to do this online, but they were all either complicated, or they wouldn’t/couldn’t work with pre-existing circuit network. I’ve been looking for a way to disable station when train is present to prevent congestion at my train refueling depot, while packing more trains closer together and preventing deadlocks.

No loops. This guide describes simple method of how to disable train station while train is present, so all other trains will bypass that station while existing train is present. I had one main track that all the other stops connected to. I used trains with a locomotive on each end, like an earlier poster mentioned not doing. Two-way tracks should be avoided at all costs because they have terrible throughput but terminus stations, despite being clearly inferior, work for moderately busy stations. Similarly you can have non-terminus stations (trains arrive, stop, and then leave in the same direction) with both one-way tracks and two-way tracks. You can have terminus stations (trains arrive, stop, and then reverse) with both one-way tracks or two-way tracks. Fluid stations are auto-balancing and offer the fastest load/. It's fine to use that system when you only have a few trains but when you want to make a real train network you will start to want to use loops. That is confusing rail design and station design. 1-8 Trains have 8 or 16 belts of load/unload, 1-4 have 4 or 8 belts, and 1-2 allow for 4 belts. Factorio Smart Train Station There are also usually a lot of rocky areas Factorio is the only game I can think of that could be used for education while not.
